Let’s Take Flight

I recently found myself embarking on journey, a journey of self-discovery, a journey of understanding, a journey into Nottingham. I know it may not sound like the most adventurous city to visit and to be truthful with you at first I was a little pessimistic when my friend asked me to come visit him over there; but while I was there I came to the understanding that the city of Nottingham is in fact one of the most interesting places to visit… At least if you’re a student. My journey began on the 20th of April 2019, 4/20 to be exact I’ve recently been trying to cut out smoking but for some strange reason when my friend Simon told me him and his Uni mates where planning on celebrating this momentous day, I thought to myself “why not” it will at least get me out of the house. So as I arrived at Nottingham Train Station around 13:30pm and saw Simon I thought something came over , a sense of relief you can say, I felt liberated. I don’t know if it was the architecture, the air, the ambience. But something about the city of Nottingham creates of a sense of deep, deep lying release within yourself that makes you feel like you can be yourself. I didn’t even get the opportunity to put down my bags before I was being dragged into the Arboretum, a park that is majority filled with students, and from the aroma in the  air it wasn’t hard to tell why within 15 minutes of being there, I wasn’t sure whether I was in Nottingham, Amsterdam or California.  It was actually that crazy but none the less I made the choice to come here knowing what was awaiting, So like the saying goes “when in Rome”, let’s just say all the that stress that I felt on my shoulder a week prier was lifted up off me. So I guess you can pretty much say Nottingham was good to me.
